Data Security and Protection toolkit – assessment of our data handling processes

As our research involves data from NHS patients we must demonstrate that we handle this sensitive information in accordance with the Department of Health’s stringent requirements. We have carried out an assessment of how we handle the sensitive information we use for our research using the NHS Digital’s Data Security and Protection Toolkit. The Data Security and Protection toolkit allows organisation processing personal data to demonstrate they are practising good data security- and that personal information is handled correctly. Our toolkit has been assessed and been found to satisfactorily meet requirements.
