Naveed Hossain

Naveed is a PhD student and Clinical Research Fellow in the Department of Surgery and Cancer. His research will investigate the risk of developing GI tract cancers in people with obesity, including those undergoing bariatric surgery.

Prior to starting his PhD, Naveed undertook specialty training in Upper GI surgery in the London Deanery and, later, in the West Midlands where he gained experience in robotic surgical techniques. Naveed qualified in Medicine from the University of Leeds, gaining an intercalated BSc in Anatomy, and later a postgraduate certificate in Medical Education from the University of Dundee. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England.
